What is Zirconium Dental Veneers?

Zirconium tooth coating is a porcelain tooth coating method with zirconium infrastructure. It is mostly applied to individuals who want to have beautiful teeth and an aesthetic smile. Individuals mostly prefer it to gain an aesthetic appearance on the front teeth. It is a material compatible with the gums. After the application, attention should be paid to oral and dental hygiene in daily life.

What is Zirconium Dental Veneers?

Zirconium, which is transformed into zirconia ceramic through special processes, is used in dental crowns. These are applications in which zirconium, which has no metal in its substructure, is processed. Zirconium veneers are known as the closest veneers to aesthetic appearance and natural teeth. For this reason, they are the most preferred products in aesthetic dentistry.

How to make zirconium veneer

Zirconium tooth coating is an application performed by dentists. First, the problem in the person's teeth is determined. Before the application, local anesthesia is applied to the handled area so that the patient does not experience any sensitivity. Teeth are reduced to the required size with digital applications.
The color and whiteness of the teeth to be veneered are selected according to the patient's wishes. During the preparation process of the veneers, the patient is fitted with temporary teeth. Zirconium teeth are prepared for about 3 to 5 days. The patient's consent is obtained and the temporary teeth are removed and the prepared zirconium veneers are placed in their place. Bonding is done with special and transparent adhesives. 
After the procedure, the patient should not eat anything for half an hour. Afterwards, the patient should go for regular check-ups. The controls are carried out on the dates determined by the dentist.

Difference Between Zirconium Plating and Metal Plating
The main difference is the support material in porcelain. The material in zirconium is zirconium substrate. Metal veneers are made with metal substrates.
Zirconium veneers are light-permeable and give the appearance of natural teeth. Metal veneers give a porcelain and matte white appearance. While zirconium veneers are compatible with the gums, metal veneers are not compatible with the gums. For this reason, it causes bruising on the gums. 
Allergic reactions caused by metal are not seen in people who have zirconium veneers. While problems such as bad breath or taste disturbance may occur after metal coating applications, these situations are not encountered after zirconium coating treatment.

Zirconium coating age limit is not completely clear. They are treatments that can be easily applied to people whose jaw development has been completed and who are over the age of 18. However, since the jaw structure of people under the age of 18 continues to develop, the development process should be expected to be completed. Zirconium coating application can be performed by dentists for people whose development process is completed.

In Which Cases Is Zirconium Tooth Preferred?

Zirconium dental veneers, which are one of the most important materials especially in aesthetic dentistry, are frequently preferred treatments in terms of aesthetic appearance. In order for zirconium to be made, the patient's gums must be healthy, the teeth must be properly prepared and zirconium-based porcelains must be inserted into the patient's mouth in a certain process. 
Aesthetic smile is not only achieved with zirconiums. For an aesthetic smile, besides a smile design and smile design, lips, jaw structure and the whole face should be evaluated together. Work should be done by considering it as a whole.
It can be preferred in case of darkening or yellowing of the teeth. It is preferred in the treatment of split teeth, in people with tooth structure disorders, in fillings that have lost their aesthetic appearance, in the coating procedures to be performed on the back teeth and to restore the aesthetic smile appearance.

Zirconium veneer prices may vary depending on the amount of teeth to be treated and the region. They are more expensive applications than veneers with metal content.
